BMC is an automotive manufacturer in Turkey and it is one of Turkey's largest commercial and military vehicle manufacturers. It was founded in 1964 in Izmir. In the first years, BMC produced Austin and Morris branded commercial vehicles. Since 1966, it has started to produce trucks, pickup trucks, tractors and engines. Furthermore, in 1989, it became the only commercial vehicle manufacturer in Turkey with 100% domestic capital. Partnering with Volvo Truck Corporation in 1983, BMC produced Turkey's first turbo engine commercial vehicles, the Yavuz series. In 1992, for the first time, a Turkish company participated in the Paris Dakar Rally with a special truck also in 1995. Also, BMC received ISO 9001 Quality Certificate for the first time. It produced the first 100% domestic truck “Professional Series” and “Megastar” the first light commercial vehicle whose intellectual and industrial property belongs to a Turkish company.

BMC is the first Turkish commercial vehicle manufacturer to export to Europe. In 2007, it produced the first environmentally friendly natural gas bus. Later, 100% domestic production of the first fully low-floor solo and articulated bus series “Procity” started. BMC started the production of Mine-Protected Armored Vehicles under the name “Kirpi”. And the Defense Industry Vehicles product line expanded with the production of Mine-Proof Armored Vehicles "Amazon" and "Vuran". In 2018, BMC produced the new generation bus series "Neocity" and "Neoport". In addition, Neocity 8.5 m diesel bus won the best design award. BMC added value of approximately 10 billion dollars to the Turkish economy with the production of more than 300 thousand vehicles since its establishment. Overall, BMC is one of the only four manufacturers in the world, producing special vehicles in all classes of freight and passenger transportation from 2.8 tons to 40 tons.
