Vakko is a clothing manufacturer in Turkey. It was established in 1960 and its founder is Vitali Hakko. The foundation of Vakko is based on a small hat shop, Şen Hat. After Şen Hat turned into Vakko, it started to produce scarves with Turkish silk, cotton and wool. Furthermore, a small silk printing workshop established in Kurtuluş, Istanbul for the first Turkish prints, which Vakko continues to produce today. Realizing that hats, scarves and printed fabrics are not enough, Vakko turned to ready-made clothing. In 1962, the first Vakko fashion store opened in Beyoğlu, on the European side of Istanbul, and introduced a brand new phenomenon to Turkey's clothing world. Also, Vakko Beyoğlu is among the largest stores opened up to that time. Here, for the first time, customers met with contemporary practices such as non-negotiable sales, regular discounted sales, replacement and take-back of sold goods.
Turkey's first youth store Vakkorama opened in Istanbul. Then, V2K designers, which started in 2000 by bringing New York fashion to Istanbul with the slogan of two cities, one brand in Vakkorama stores, opened its own store in 2005. In addition, incorporating designers and brands from other fashion capitals such as Paris, London and Milan in time, besides New York, V2K designers has the distinction of being the first concept store in Turkey where different world brands meet under the same roof. Moreover, the awareness of the Vakko brand has started to increase with the advertising campaigns carried out throughout Turkey and the fashion shows held regularly.
