The production of "Natural Latex Rubber Thread" started in 1959 with the most advanced Italian technology of the time, in its building located in Eyüp Otakcılar, where its head office is still located today. Later in 1987, Elpa Elastiki İplikler Sanayi ve İhracat A.Ş. was established as a marketing company. Following a broad-minded strategy, it bought the production facilities of two companies in 1999 and increased its capacity. In 2004, it moved its facilities in Istanbul to the factory building it built on its own land in the Çerkezköy Organized Industrial Zone. With the new state-of-the-art fully computer-controlled facility, it has become a world-class manufacturer and exporter. It is constantly investing in new equipment to increase efficiency by equipping both its facility and research units with the latest technologies. It also conducts tests and analyzes at every stage of production, from raw material to finished goods in the parcel, in its fully-equipped laboratory. Liquid latex, the main raw material of its product, is produced from a tree called Hevea Brasiliensis, which is found in South America, Africa and the Far East. This substance passes through many complex manufacturing stages in its facilities and becomes rubber thread.

Another indicator of the respect it shows for its work is the Oeko Tex Standard 100 certificate, which its products have held since 1995. This internationally respected document shows that its products do not contain carcinogenic substances and heavy metals and that they comply with all ecological standards, especially in baby and food products. All its wastewater passes through the most advanced biological treatment plant.
