Koçtaş is a construction market company in Turkey. Koçtaş, which is one of Koç Group's first companies, is a construction material brand. It operated as a Building Materials wholesaler and served large construction projects until 1996. Later, it decided to start retailing and opened its first home improvement store in Izmir, Bornova. It opened new stores in other cities such as Antalya, Istanbul. In 2000, B&Q, a subsidiary of the Kingfisher Group, one of the three largest corporations in the home improvement sector worldwide, signed a partnership agreement with Koçtaş. With the agreement that began in February 2000, 50% of the shares of the company were allocated to the Koç Group and 50% to the Kingfisher Group of which B&Q is affiliated. In the end, Koçtaş Yapı Marketleri Ticaret A.Ş. became the official name of the company.

In 2001, Koçtaş opened its largest store of 10.000 m² in Istanbul Kartal. Koçtaş made a first by introducing its second store in Istanbul in a shopping mall. Later, it continued to grow by opening stores in cities such as Edremit, Kuşadası, İzmit, and Bursa. It opened its biggest store in Ankara. Koçtaş, multiplying its success with awards, has many different product categories from kitchen products to bathrooms, armchairs and sofas to lighting products, paint to parquet, and so on.
