Desa is a leather textile company. DESA started its activities in 1970 when Melih Çelet contacted a US company that wanted to supply leather bags. Starting its activities by producing women bags in 1972, DESA opened its first store in Erenköy in 1973. In this way, Turkish consumers met for the first time with shoulder strap bags. Making a name for itself with its quality, DESA's name has become a globally successful supplier with the important steps it took towards globalization in the 1980s. In 1983, DESA takes the Turkey distributor of Samsonite, the world's giant fields, and offers comfortable and useful products to the travel market. This cooperation turned into a partnership in 2007. In 1990, it moved to a modern facility of 15,000 square meters in Sefaköy and still continues its activities there. The leather of the products manufactured in DESA started to be produced in the leather tanning facility of 28.000 square meters in Çorlu in 1991.
