Hazelnut Cooperative in Turkey: Fiskobirlik

Fiskobirlik is a hazelnut cooperative in Turkey. The copperative gathered the hazelnut producers under one roof. Ordu, Giresun, Bulancak, Keşap and Trabzon hazelnut cooperatives merged in 1938. Thus, they established the Hazelnut Sales Cooperatives Union, namely Fiskobirlik. Fiskobirlik has gained institutional experience since the early years of the republic. Thanks to this experience, it is an organization with market foresight. It does not compromise the trust it has gained in the hazelnut sector and its understanding of quality food. It is an organization that adheres to the principles of cooperatives as a team with consumers and producers.

The Aim of Fiskobirlik

The aim of the cooperative is in the growing hazelnut and hazelnut products sector; to supply the products needed by domestic and foreign market markets. Moreover, the cooperative seeks to present these products to consumers with a reliable and quality food understanding. To ensure the producers use their agricultural and ecological resources effectively and efficiently. Thus, it provides sustainability and puts it into practice by making studies increase the producer's income and living standards.

Subsidiaries of Fiskobirlik Hazelnut Cooperative in Turkey

Fiskobirlik Efit

Fiskobirlik wants to increase the product quality and variety by processing the hazelnuts produced in our country. They want to offer new tastes to the palate. It established the Integrated Hazelnut Processing Plant in 1981 to contribute to the country's economy with raw materials, semi-processed and finished products. This facility has been operating as a part of the association under the name of Fiskobirlik Efit since 2002.

Fiskomar

The sales stores and affiliated markets department within the Fiskobirlik General Directorate are anonymous under the name of Fiskomar. Fiskomar operates in the retail sector. Today serves 18 points in Turkey.

Fiskobirlik Insurance Limited Company

Established in March 2004, the company ensures that the producers affiliated with the cooperative are insured. Thus, the rights and labour of the manufacturer are guaranteed.

Ordu Oil Inc.

Fiskobirlik produces oil with Ordu Yağ. In addition to hazelnut oil, it also produces sunflower, corn and soybean oils.
