Şentaş Dried Figs

Şentaş is a pioneer dried fig producer in Turkey. The first steps of the Şen family in the dried fig trade were taken by their great grandfather Çakır Ali in the early 1900s in the Beydağ Town of the Ödemiş district of İzmir.

In those years, the great grandfather, who was one of the producers who grew the uniquely delicious figs of the region, marketed the figs he grew to various centers of Anatolia together with those he collected from other producers.

Mehmet Şen, who took over the business at a very young age after his father passed away in 1925, grew both his company and his sons, whom he named Kadir, Orhan and Turan, with the truths he learned from his father.

Mehmet Şen and his sons; They aimed to open up to the world and reach larger markets within the Şen collective company they founded in 1961, and in line with this goal, they created the HODJA BRAND brand and started exporting dried fruits with this brand.

In 1983, with the participation of the fourth generation family members, Şentaş Tarım Ürünleri İhracat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., which still exports different dried fruits, especially dried figs, to countries all around the world and is known worldwide for its quality and products, was established.

Şentaş, which exports dried figs, which are one of the first export products of our country and which have made very important contributions to the steps our country has taken to catch up with advanced countries for many years with the income obtained from its exports, accepts keeping our country at the top not only in dried figs but also in the export of other dried fruits, providing more foreign exchange to our country with its commercial activities, and working harder for the development of our country as its other unchangeable goals.
