The history of Teknim, which has been operating in the electronic security sector for 29 years, actually means the history of the Turkish Electronic Security sector to some extent. Teknim has been continuing its existence in the electronic security sector since 2003 as the brand of Turkiye's first burglar alarm systems, initially designed by the R&D department created within Bilgi Elektronik A.Ş. in 2002.

Due to the needs of the sector, it has started to produce conventional fire alarm systems since 2008 and this has been followed by intelligent addressable fire alarm systems for which it has created its own protocol. As of 2021, it started to produce Wireless Fire Alarm systems in accordance with EN 54 Standards for the first time in Turkiye.
