Doğa is an agricultural seed producer in Turkey. Founded by Yakup Karahan in 1995, the company is Turkey's first and only integrated company in the potato industry. It is among the few respected potato companies in the world.

Doğa Tohumculuk makes its production from seed to fork. Potato produces cultivar breeding, seed growing, agricultural production, storage, and frozen potato products. It provides retrospective traceability within the holistic quality control system that it has meticulously created. So you know the fries on your fork come from the pollen of the flowers of which potato plants.

Doğa Tohumculuk set out with the motivation to produce quality seeds for its agricultural production. However, the only way to produce quality and healthy seeds was to have our seed varieties, that is, to be a breeder in practice. As Doğa Tohumculuk, we are experiencing the joy of developing Turkey's first domestic potato seed varieties at Doğa R&D Center. At the end of 20 years of effort, it is proud to offer “the most suitable variety, the most reliable seed” to our country, which is a seed importer. It continues on its way by targeting the foreign market in its branding strategy.

R&D Center of the Agricultural Seed Producer

Doğa R&D Center can develop 50,000 varieties of candidates per year in 2 fully equipped laboratories, 3 full-controlled closed greenhouses, and 5.5 decares of seed production greenhouse in Nevşehir. There are 72 varieties developed by himself in the gene bank, and an average of 20 more candidates are added each year. The tissue culture mini tuber production facility produces 800,000 plantlets and 1.5 million mini tubers (super elite grade seeds) annually. It established its facilities by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by TÜBİTAK projects and increases its R&D investment every year by increasing the number of scientific projects.

Seed and Potato Production/Storage

As Doğa Tohumculuk, it produces an average of 20,000 tons of seeds per year. 120,000 tons of potato production infrastructure is available. For many years, it met the raw material needs of world giants such as Kraft and Frito-Lay. Today, it uses its crop in the production of “Nature Frost”, Pomking, and Pomqueen.

In 1996, it became the inventor of the first modernized underground warehouses in Cappadocia. Today, it has 6 modernized underground warehouses with a total capacity of 72,140 tons.

Frozen Product

In 2011, it started to produce frozen potato products in Nevşehir. It processes its crops in its facility with an annual potato processing capacity of 60 thousand tons on a total area of 65 thousand m2 (16 thousand m2 closed area). "Doğa Frost", which is its production from seed to fork, produces Pomking and Pomqueen under the standards of BRC Global Standard for Food Safety, ISO 22000:2005, Halal Certificates, with the principle of "good raw material means good product".
